Dimitar Berbatov is a bulgarian footballer. He was born on January 30 1981 in Blagoevgrad. Berbatov has a younger brother - Asen. He is also a footballer. His mother - Margarita is an ex-handball player and his father is is an ex-Pirin (Blagoevgrad) and CSKA footballer.

Berbatov starts his football career at the age of 10 in FC Pirin. In 1999, at the age of 18 he signs with CSKA. Currently he plays as a center forward for Bayer Leverkusen. Berbatov played on the final of the champions League in 2002 where his team was defeated by Real Madrid 2-1

He played at the European championship in 2004. By December 2005 he has 31 goals in 48 maches for the Bulgarian National Team. He is the third alltime scorer for the bulgarian national team. He has been chosen for Bulgaria's number one footballer for 2002, 2004 and 2005. By December 2005 he has 53 goals in 134 matches in the Bundesliga. In the Champions League he has scored 9 goals. Since his transfer in may 2006, Berbatov plays in the English team Tottenham Hotspur. He was transferred from Bayer Leverkusen to Tottenham for 16 million EUR.
